Precautions In The Use Of Stainless Steel Wire Rope

2021-11-17
1. It is strictly forbidden to use the new Stainless Steel Wire Rope directly at high speed and heavy load:

Do not use the new stainless steel wire rope directly under high speed and heavy load immediately, but run it for a period of time under low speed and medium load conditions. After the new rope is adapted to the state of use, gradually increase the speed of the wire rope and increase the lifting load. The wire rope must go through the initial running-in stage before carrying out high-speed and heavy-duty operations.

2. It is strictly forbidden to skip jobs with stainless steel wire ropes:

When the stainless steel wire rope is used in conjunction with the pulley, care must be taken to prevent the wire rope from jumping out of the groove. If the wire rope is still used after falling off the wheel groove, the wire rope will be squeezed, kinked, broken wire, and broken strands, which will seriously shorten the service life of the wire rope. If the rope breaks, it will often bring catastrophic consequences.

3. Extrusion deformation of stainless steel wire rope is strictly prohibited:

The stainless steel wire rope should not be squeezed strongly during use, so as to prevent the wire rope from deforming, resulting in structural damage and early wire breakage (the brittle layer of martensite will appear on the surface of the wire), strands or even rope breakage, which significantly reduces the wire rope Service life and endanger operation safety.

4. It is strictly forbidden to rub the stainless steel wire rope with other objects when running at high speed:

When the stainless steel wire rope is running at high speed, it should avoid friction with other objects outside the non-matching wheel groove. Because at high speeds, the instantaneous frictional heat generated when the wire rope and these objects are running with each other can cause a martensite structure on the surface of the wire. Although this change in the structure cannot be distinguished by the naked eye, it causes the wire to break early. The main reason.

5. It is strictly forbidden to entangle the stainless steel wire rope randomly:

When the stainless steel wire rope is wound on the reel, it should be arranged as neatly as possible. If they are wound randomly, the wire ropes will also be squeezed together during work, causing damage to the wire rope structure, resulting in early wire breakage, directly affecting the service life of the wire rope

6. It is strictly forbidden to use the stainless steel wire rope for overload:

If the stainless steel wire rope is overloaded, it will rapidly increase the degree of deformation, the degree of wear between the inner steel wire and between the outer wire and the matching wheel groove, which will bring serious harm to the safety of operation and shorten the service life of the pulley.

7. It is strictly forbidden to subject the stainless steel wire rope to severe shock and vibration:

During the use of stainless steel wire rope, if the running speed frequently changes rapidly, it will cause impact load. Although each impact is only an instant load, it implies great harm. When the impact load exceeds the allowable working stress of the wire rope, the rope will break. Even if the impact load does not necessarily cause the wire rope to break, multiple impacts will severely shorten the service life of the wire rope. For the steel wire rope that has been used for a period of time, compared with the new rope, the impact resistance will be lower due to the smaller stretchability.
